Angel Martinez was the Guardians’ best hitter, going 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBI and a run, but Cleveland managed only one additional run in the ninth. Foster Griffin worked five innings with four strikeouts and a 3.21 ERA, while Kansas City reliever Daniel Lynch IV covered 3.1 innings with three strikeouts and helped preserve the lead after the Royals took control.

The victory moved Kansas City to 62-75 and gave the Royals a needed road result built on timely hitting and effective relief coverage. Cleveland fell to 68-68 after failing to turn its early lead into sustained offense, and the Guardians now need more consistent production around Martinez to avoid letting winnable games slip away.
