Josh Bell supplied two hits and two RBI in four at-bats, delivering the run production that turned Minnesota's early pressure into a lead. Luke Keaschall went 2-for-3 with a home run, an RBI and a run, while Trevor Larnach added two RBI and Brooks Lee collected two hits. Chicago received two hits and a run from Sam Antonacci, but its offense produced only one scoring inning and could not match Minnesota's efficiency with runners in position.

The victory moved Minnesota to 65-72 and showed what the Twins can still gain from Matthews when he works deep and the lineup converts early opportunities.
