Bradish allowed the Rockies to remain within reach over five innings, striking out four while mixing his pitches effectively. Hughes matched that strikeout total in 4.2 innings, and the game stayed scoreless in the first, fourth, fifth, sixth, eighth and ninth innings. Colorado’s 2-1 edge in the seventh proved decisive: Baltimore scored there but could not erase the deficit, and the Rockies closed out the two-run victory.

The result moved Colorado to 53-86 and Baltimore to 69-70. The Rockies showed enough timely power to win a tightly spaced game, while the Orioles left Coors needing more lineup depth behind Holliday and more sustained pressure after the seventh-inning response. Colorado’s formula was clear: keep the game controlled through the starters and let the home-run threat decide the narrow margins.
