Seattle Mariners scored in only two innings, but those innings decided everything. The Red Sox answered with one run in the fourth and two in the seventh, but Seattle’s offense had already created too much separation.

J.P. Crawford set the tone for Seattle with three hits and two runs in three at-bats, repeatedly keeping pressure on Boston’s pitching. Jhonny Pereda added two hits and two RBIs in three at-bats, producing the run-scoring contact the Mariners needed with traffic on base. Seattle’s eight runs came in concentrated bursts rather than through sustained scoring, making the third- and sixth-inning rallies the defining moments of the game.

Boston had its best individual offensive performance from Roman Anthony, who went 3-for-5 with a home run, an RBI and a run. Wilyer Abreu also collected three hits and scored once, while Eli White drove in a run. Those performances were not enough to overcome the early deficit. Seattle starter Bryce Miller worked 4.2 innings with three strikeouts, and Boston starter Patrick Sandoval lasted four innings with two strikeouts; neither starter reached the fifth inning with control of the game. Raymond Burgos gave Boston two scoreless innings and struck out three, but the Red Sox could not erase the damage already on the board.

The result moved Seattle to 66-74 and Boston to 75-65, with the Mariners taking a decisive road win despite Boston’s three-run response over the middle innings. Seattle’s ability to convert two explosive rallies into an eight-run total gives its offense a clear template going forward: apply pressure early, then punish the next pitching change. Boston will need more than isolated production from Anthony and Abreu if it is to prevent similar deficits from defining the next game.
