Henderson Sets the Tone as Brewers Pull Away from Rangers, 6-1
Milwaukee backed Logan Henderson's seven-inning, seven-strikeout start with timely production from William Contreras, Christian Yelich and the middle of its lineup.
Final: Texas Rangers 1 — 6 Milwaukee Brewers
The Milwaukee Brewers controlled the game from the opening inning and finished with a 6-1 win over the Texas Rangers at American Family Field. Logan Henderson worked seven innings with seven strikeouts, keeping Texas from sustaining pressure while Milwaukee built its lead in four separate scoring innings. William Contreras drove in three runs, and Christian Yelich collected three hits as the Brewers improved to 84-51.
Milwaukee established its advantage immediately, scoring twice in the first inning before Texas answered with its only run in the third. The Rangers could not add to that total against Henderson, whose seven strikeouts supplied the game's clearest pitching edge. Cody Bradford gave Texas 5.2 innings, but he recorded no strikeouts and the Brewers continued to create enough contact against him to regain control after the one-run response.
Contreras delivered the decisive offensive production, going 2-for-4 with three RBI. Yelich went 3-for-5 with an RBI, while David Hamilton added two hits, one RBI and one run. Jake Bauers reached safely in both at-bats and scored twice, and Sal Frelick contributed two hits in three at-bats. Milwaukee added single runs in the sixth and seventh innings before scoring twice in the eighth, turning a close middle stretch into a five-run margin. DL Hall then struck out three in a scoreless inning, preserving the Brewers' command of the finish.
The victory reinforced Milwaukee's advantage in both rotation performance and lineup depth: Henderson kept Texas from mounting a sustained threat, and multiple Brewers hitters converted opportunities as the game progressed. At 84-51, Milwaukee continues to separate itself from the field, while Texas falls to 66-69 and must find more offensive pressure when its starter does not generate swing-and-miss results.
